• A survey of Greensboro lakes finds that the reservoirs have less capacity than thought. Safe yield from the lakes should not exceed annual average of 36.1 millions of gallons per day.

• January: City implements four-tiered conservation rate based on water usage and includes a billing and availability fee.
• Summer: Completes Reidsville interconnect ($8.9 million).
