Alexis Dermatas fundraisers
Upcoming and ongoing fundraisers to raise more than $155,000 for medical care and traveling expenses for Alexis Dermatas, whose nose was bitten off in January by the longtime family dog:
• An online giving account has been set up at www.gofundme.com/alexis-needs-your-help.
• A pancake breakfast benefit from 8 a.m. to noon, Aug. 12 with activities and a silent auction for a variety of services and products, including meals at local restaurants and professional services, New Garden Moose Lodge, 1800 New Garden Road. First responders who are on duty and in uniform get free pancakes.
• Donations are being accepted at Dormition of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church, 800 Westridge Road, Greensboro, NC 27410. Write "Alexis" in the memo line.
