Town houses in Battle Forest Village sit next to construction work on the Urban Loop. Jim Bishop, who owns a unit next to the construction, is part of a lawsuit against the N.C. Department of Transportation for damages beyond what the agency has paid for the developed land and more than 50 units that workers have torn down to make way for the road. Several private appraisals of Bishop’s property showed that its value had declined from about $117,000 to an average of $39,000.

Town houses in Battle Forest Village sit next to construction work on the Urban Loop. Jim Bishop, who owns a unit next to the construction, is part of a lawsuit against the N.C. Department of Transportation for damages beyond what the agency has paid for the developed land and more than 50 units that workers have torn down to make way for the road. Several private appraisals of Bishop’s property showed that its value had declined from about $117,000 to an average of $39,000.
