Nutcracker update
UNC School of the Arts announced Friday that production of “The Nutcracker” will return to Winston-Salem in 2026 with performances at R. J. Reynolds Auditorium, the site of its inaugural performance in 1966.
Tickets will go on sale in July.
UNCSA said plans for future years will be announced, but confirmed that “The Nutcracker” will return to the Stevens Center upon its reopening following its temporary shift to downtown Greensboro's Tanger Center.
"We are definitely excited about bringing the Nutcracker back to the Stevens Center when it opens," UNCSA chancellor Brian Cole said.
"We're actually working on raising the funds to create an entirely new cracker production that will be debuted in the first full year of operations at Stevens Center."
