Hundreds of Rockingham County residents turned out at the Rockingham County Board of Commissioners’ meeting Monday night to oppose rezoning of 192 acres along US 220 that a casino developer seeks to buy.

County residents, armed with anti-casino signs, waited outside the Rockingham County Governmental Center in Wentworth for a commissioners’ meeting in August.
