The former private boarding school, which closed to students in 2019, is being considered by federal officials as possible temporary housing for immigrant children who crossed the U.S. border unaccompanied by an adult.

American Hebrew Academy announced in June 2019 that it was closing immediately for financial reasons, according to an email sent to staff, students and alumni. The school was later rebranded as AHA International School but it has not reopened to students and its website appears to no longer be working.

American Hebrew Academy announced in June 2019 that it was closing immediately for financial reasons, according to an email sent to staff, students and alumni. The school was later rebranded as AHA International School but it has not reopened to students and its website appears to no longer be working.
