Lowell Dean Soots
October 26, 1934 - November 4, 2026
Lowell Dean Soots, 92, of Greensboro, passed away on November 4, 2026, surrounded by family.
Dean was born October 26, 1934, in Eden, N.C., to the late Stacy and Lillian Carter Soots.
Dean served his country during the Korean War as part of the Finance Corps division of the Army. He was a Mason in Gate City Lodge 694 and past President of the Guilford College Jaycees.
Dean is preceded in death by his parents, Stacy and Lillian; sister, Margaret Hoy; and brother, Stacy V. Soots, Jr. "Sonny."
He is survived by his loving wife, Kay Soots; sons, Dusty Soots (Kari), Tim Soots (Kori); daughter, Melody Grix (David); grandchildren, Tyler Soots (Krysta), Hannah Soots, Emma Soots, Senden Soots, Baden Soots, Josh Grix (Lindsey), Jacob Grix (Shelby), Jonah Grix; great-grandchildren, Ollie Soots, Reiner Varner, Scarlett Grix, and Archer Grix.
A funeral service will take place at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Forbis & Dick N. Elm Chapel, with burial following at Forest Lawn at 3:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
