As the president of the 504th Bomb Group Association, I and all other members of the 504th BGA are deeply saddened by Bob's passing. We all enjoyed having Bob with us on the many reunions he attended. My father-in-law and founder of the 504th BGA, Art Tomes, flew with Bob. We all especially enjoyed Bob's story of how Art woke him up suddenly when he napped while being on watch. Bob could not wait to tell that story to anyone that was related to Art. Bob was truly a hero in his own rite and the members of the 504th BGA will miss him.
