I was sorry to learn of Dr. Barnes' death. I don't remember where or when I met him; but I always enjoyed talking with him about his books and other things on his mind. Always friendly, especially when we ran into each other on walks around College Hill and Greensboro College.

He will be missed. My sympathy to his large family.
