WHAT: Unveiling of a historic marker honoring Justice Susie Sharp.

WHERE: The corner of Main and Lindsey streets in Reidsville. Following the unveiling  the Historical Society of North Carolina will host a forum to discuss events of the justice's legal career with her former colleagues on the court and staff.

Ned Cline is a retired reporter and editor who covered public officials and public policies in North Carolina over four decades. The contents for this article were obtained from public records and in-person interviews with Justice Sharp's former colleagues.

She never married and never believed that a woman could have both a career and a marriage. "Trouble comes." she said, "when a woman tries to be too many things."
