"I’ve basically gone through four classes I’ve looked up to, and they’re out there doing what they need to do and handling their business," Cromartie says. Navy linebacker Nizaire Cromartie on the responsibility of being a team captain: “The first thing I think of is the standard that we have to uphold when it comes to a lot of things. When it comes to going out in town it means not so much being modest but being very responsible, acting as adults, especially the football team. Just like there’s a culture in the hall, there’s a culture in the football team that we’re held to a higher standard because eyes are on us at all times.”

The sea wall along Spa Creek in Annapolis, Md., is part of the daily life of Midshipman Nizaire Cromartie, a senior at the U.S. Naval Academy. "I’ve basically gone through four classes I’ve looked up to, and they’re out there doing what they need to do and handling their business," Cromartie says. "It doesn’t seem like it’s an impossible thing."
